The interdisciplinary LoBeS team aims to understand the complex connections between biological and environmental factors that play a role in maintaining brain health or putting us at risk for brain disorders.

To reliably accomplish our goals, we work with large-scale multidimensional datasets, and several of them! We integrate multimodal brain imaging data with biological measures, such as genome-wide genetic information, numerous demographic, socioeconomic, lifestyle, and environmental factors, along with clinical and cognitive outcomes and trajectories.

Our group leads and contributes to several core efforts within the ENIGMA Consortium, designed to overcome the 'reproducibility crisis' in the neurosciences. The consortium consolidates expertise and data from all over the world, while distributing the computational burden, to perform some of the most highly-powered studies of brain structure and function.

To streamline our neuroscience missions, and those of our international collaborators, we develop and publicly distribute tools, algorithms, and resources for data processing, harmonization and integration.
